Louise qualified from the University of Manchester in 1998. After working in general practice in Birmingham, she moved to South Wales where she gained valuable experience in community and hospital services. While in hospital services, she worked in oral surgery and oral medicine, gaining hands-on expertise and mentoring dental students along the way. Louise has been part of Kings Mills since 2005 and, alongside Keith Otty, took over the practice in 2022. She has a special interest in oral surgery and oral medicine, treating complex cases and patients requiring General Anaesthesia at the PEH. Her extensive experience and kind, caring nature make her especially popular with nervous patients. Outside of work, Louise enjoys reading, crafts, and is an enthusiastic street dancer - so if you ever hear some upbeat moves from the staff room, you can bet Louise is behind them!

BDS Bristol. GDC 80827
Keith qualified from the University of Bristol in 2002 and worked in both private and NHS practices in Bournemouth, where he met his wife, Ellie. The couple moved to Guernsey in 2010 and continued their careers in dentistry. Keith has been actively involved with the Guernsey Dental Association for over 10 years, serving as chairman and more recently as secretary, including acting as dental liaison to multiple HSC and PEH governance committees. Keith has been part of Kings Mills since 2014 and, alongside Louise Toney, took over the practice in 2022. He practices modern, minimally invasive dentistry, focusing on prevention and tooth-sparing techniques to help patients maintain as much of their natural smile as possible. With a special interest in endodontics, Keith handles all complex root canal treatments in the practice. Outside of work, Keith is a keen surfer and is often spotted catching lunchtime waves at Vazon! He also spends time coaching his son’s football team or training for the local triathlon series. Keith claims that if he can stay upright on a surfboard, he can handle anything the team throw at him!

Michelle graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1990 and gained her DGDP qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1994. She previously held a part-time Clinical Assistant’s Orthodontics post at Northern General Hospital and has undertaken extensive postgraduate education to continually enhance her skills and provide excellent care. After over 30 years practicing in Lichfield, Michelle joined the Kings Mills team in June 2023 following her move to Guernsey. She has quickly become an integral member of the team, winning the hearts of both new and existing patients with her kind, attentive approach. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys walking her dogs along Guernsey’s beautiful beaches, spending time embroidering amazing creations, and travelling with her partner whenever she can. Her embroidery skills are so impressive, we suspect she could make a perfect tooth fairy costume if asked!
Orthodontic Practitioner and Dentist
BDS Kings College London. Dip Ortho Warwick. GDC 79783
Ellie graduated from Kings College London in 2001 and worked in the UK before moving back home to Guernsey in 2010. She later went on to study at the University of Warwick, where she gained a Diploma in Orthodontics. Alongside her role as a dentist with the Children’s Dental Service, treating complex paediatric and orthodontic cases, Ellie joined the Kings Mills team in 2022. She now works with us two days a week as our Orthodontic Practitioner, providing high-quality orthodontic care for our patients and also accepting referrals from other dental practices. Patients value her kind, reassuring nature and her passion for creating confident, healthy smiles. Outside of work, Ellie is kept busy looking after her two children, but still makes time for running, surfing, and yoga - balancing it all with style and energy!

Claire graduated from the University of Manchester in 1984 with her qualification as a Dental Hygienist and joined Kings Mills in 1985. She has been a cornerstone of our team ever since, providing expert oral hygiene care and advice to patients of all ages. Claire is passionate about helping patients achieve and maintain excellent oral health. With her kind, caring manner she tries to make visits to the hygienist a friendly and relaxed experience. Outside of work, Claire enjoys gardening, long walks, quiz nights with her girlfriends, and curling up with a good book. She’s also a keen baker - and as a team, we’re more than happy to volunteer for “quality control” of her delicious creations!
Clinical Manager and Registered Dental Nurse
Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing QCF City & Guilds 2018. GDC 276714
Vanessa joined Kings Mills in 2016 and gained her dental nurse qualification in 2018. Since then, she’s completed additional training in Infection Control, Lead Dental Nursing and Practice Management. As our manager, Vanessa keeps the practice running smoothly - from overseeing clinics and staff, to handling marketing, auditing, clinical governance and training new team members. She describes running the practice as a bit like herding cats - and that’s just keeping the staff in check! Her positive outlook and approachable manner mean she’s always there to support both patients and colleagues, and although she nurses less often these days, her calm and reassuring presence is a huge comfort to nervous patients. Outside of work, Vanessa is usually busy renovating her home with her partner and chasing after her energetic toddler, Olivia. And when she does get a rare moment to herself, you’ll usually find her with a cocktail catching up with her friends!
Head Dental Nurse
Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing QCF City & Guilds 2022. GDC 305475
Nadia joined our team in 2020, bringing with her 12 years of experience as a dental nurse in Madeira. After completing her exams here in Guernsey, she qualified in 2022 and has since gone on to complete additional training in Infection Prevention and Control. With her wealth of experience across many areas of dentistry, Nadia is now our lead orthodontic nurse, making sure treatment for our orthodontic patients runs smoothly from start to finish. Her friendly, kind and approachable manner makes her a real favourite with both patients and the team. Outside of work, Nadia loves going out for meals with friends. She’s also known in the practice for having eyelashes so perfect that the rest of us have given up competing!
Registered Dental Nurse
National Diploma in Dental Nursing NEBDN 2025. GDC 325333
Leinina joined our team in 2023 as part of our practice expansion and quickly became an essential member of the team. She has recently passed all of her exams and is now a fully qualified dental nurse - a fantastic achievement we’re all so proud of! With her bubbly personality and positive energy, Leinina brings a real lift to the practice every day. She works alongside both our general dentists and our Orthodontic Practitioner, and has a particular passion for orthodontics, where her enthusiasm really shines through. Outside of work, Leinina enjoys keeping fit at the gym and helping her partner paint cars for sand racing - though we’re still not sure how she manages to avoid getting more paint on herself than the cars!
Trainee Dental Nurse
Shami joined our team in 2023 as a Trainee Dental Nurse. After studying towards her Health and Social Care Diploma, she decided that training while working would be the best way to gain experience. Brand new to dentistry when she started, Shami has picked things up quickly and is now studying towards her Dental Nurse Diploma, already putting her new skills into practice in the surgery. She enjoys the variety of dental nursing and the chance to work with all of our dentists across different treatments. Her enthusiasm for learning and her can-do attitude have made her a fantastic addition to the team. Outside of work, Shami has a strong interest in fashion and is currently learning to drive on the roads of Guernsey - so if you see her practising, give her plenty of space (and maybe a friendly wave of encouragement)!
Trainee Dental Nurse
Chloe joined our team in the autumn of 2023. After completing her Level 3 in Health & Social Care, she decided to pursue a career in dental nursing... and hasn’t looked back since! She has taken to dental nursing like a duck to water and is progressing brilliantly through her training towards her qualification, building her skills and confidence every day. Chloe has fitted into the team seamlessly, and her enthusiasm and positive attitude make her a joy to work with. Patients appreciate her caring nature, and we can already tell she has a bright future in dentistry. Outside of work, Chloe enjoys spending time with her family and long walks with her two cockapoos, Roxy and Sooty, though sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s leading who!
Receptionist
Carol has been part of Kings Mills since 1999 and is our head receptionist, bringing over 25 years of experience to the front desk. A familiar and welcoming face to our regular patients, Carol is always ready with a smile and a good chat - especially if the topic is football! As head receptionist, she manages our appointment books, organises patient appointments, and liaises with healthcare professionals both on the Island and in the UK to make sure our patients receive the best possible care. Outside of work, Carol enjoys watching Chelsea win (on the good days!) and spending time with her great-nephew. She’s also a keen sea swimmer - though only if the sun is shining!
